Who we are
Gtek Ltd. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16199928. Registered office: 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. Gtek is the data controller for personal and business information collected through this site, through trade accounts, and when supplying phones, SIM plans and website services to business customers.
What we collect
- Trade account details: business name, business type, company number if given, and your login email. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form.
- Contact details: name, email, phone
- Order details: items, delivery information, porting numbers where relevant
- Messages you send us through the contact form or by email
- Job applications: your CV and the details you send with it
- Basic technical data our host records to keep the site secure, such as IP address and browser type
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- Setting up and running your trade account, and fulfilling orders and website projects (contract)
- Checking that customers are genuine businesses, and keeping the site and accounts secure (legitimate interests)
- Keeping invoices and accounting records (legal obligation)
- Considering job applications (legitimate interests, and steps before a possible employment contract)
- Marketing, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time
Who we share it with
Only with providers we need in order to run the business: the partners who supply, deliver and connect your order, our website hosting and security provider, our business email provider, and our accountants. We never sell your data.
International transfers
Some of our providers, such as our hosting and email providers, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order records for 6 years after your last order, to meet tax and accounting rules. We keep enquiries that don't lead to an order, and job applications, for up to 12 months. We delete trade login details when an account is closed.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use what's essential for the site to work. gtek_sid keeps you signed in to your trade account for up to 12 hours and is removed when you sign out. gtek_2fa lasts 5 minutes while you enter a verification code. Your cart is saved in your browser so it isn't lost when you sign in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so we don't ask for cookie consent.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, object to processing, and ask for a copy of your data. Contact us at info@gtekdirect.com. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
